The Sidikila District, under the prefecture of Mandiana, is gradually transforming its look. This transformation is due to an agreement between local authorities and the mining company GBG (Guinea Bauxite Group). Today, new social and administrative infrastructures are visible everywhere, significantly alleviating the community’s daily difficulties. This success results from proper implementation and use of local content, reinforcing good cohabitation between residents and the mining company.

Thanks to the combined efforts of GBG and local authorities, schools, health centers, and administrative offices have been established, meeting the essential needs of the population.

GBG representatives reaffirmed their commitment to continue providing support. For them, it’s not just about exploiting mining resources. “We have a responsibility to the communities that host us,” stated the company spokesperson, adding, “this is why we invest in projects that directly impact the daily lives of residents.”

Local authorities view this cooperation as a boon. “Thanks to GBG, we have been able to undertake projects that our meager resources would not allow. This shows that it is possible for mining companies and local communities to work together in harmony for development,” said the district chief.

As for the residents, they express their satisfaction: “We see the tangible results of this partnership. Our children can now go to school under better conditions, and we now have access to quality healthcare,” testified a resident of Sidikila.

The Sidikila District has become an example of what successful collaboration between a mining company and a local community can achieve. GBG, by respecting local content and promoting unity, sets a precedent for other companies operating in similar areas. This model could inspire other regions of the country, where mining potential is immense, but community needs are often neglected.
