Conakry, July 30, 2024 – Guinea is in mourning following the tragic death of DJ Kolo, a prominent member of the group Takana Zion. His passing has sent shockwaves across the country, leaving a grieving family, a confused group, and thousands of fans in tears. DJ Kolo, who left his mark in Corontine, Kaloum, and throughout Guinea, passed away recently, leaving a significant void behind.

Known for his generosity and humanitarian commitment, Dr. David Makongo, nicknamed the “Pan-African with a Lion’s Heart,” has once again stepped in during this time of sorrow. As Takana Zion is currently on a music tour in North America and the deceased’s family was without support, Dr. Makongo intervened to assist with the funeral arrangements.

On behalf of the President of the Republic, General Mamadi Doumbouya, and the youth of Kaloum, Dr. Makongo donated an undisclosed amount of money to help the family organize the funeral.
